Model Posing Tips – How to Look Your Best in Photographs
I have spent the last couple of months finding out a few things that I wish I’d known from the start about modelling. Hope these can be helpful to my beautiful models out there or if you just want a killer picture!
7 Helpful Tips and Tricks to Nail your Next Photo-shoot
Stand there, perfect your poses and learn how your body shapes. Will help you pin point certain angles in your body structure. Plus you will have more confidence in front of the camera
Basic Understanding of Light
If your nervous about this just ask the photographers they are more than willing to help you out. Basic understanding of light will allow you to lighten and cast shadows on parts of your body to get the most out of the shoots.
Create Separation between your Limbs from your Body
Not only does it prevent the arm/leg from being squashed against you spreading out any fat, it is also an optical illusion for a slimmer appearance in terms of overall width
Be aware of the nose ‘Breaking your Cheek’
Which means that you have turned your head to far one way and have cut of the check part of the face. This is a hit or miss because it can work for certain types of photographs. But the overall general rule is most people look better when the nose does not break the cheek.
Elongate your Neck
Gives the illusion of a height and poise. Can feel unnatural but looks amazing in photos.
Keep your Hands Loose and Fluid
Best way to achieve this is by keeping your middle finger lower than the others whilst relaxing them with a slight curve (‘ballet hands’).
Play with what is Available
Touch the hair, work your body and hands at different angles. Don’t be afraid to use the clothing in your poses.
Hope these tips help you in you next photo shoot or help you take over better photos!
