How to Wear a Midi Skirt’s Connect

Forget the mini and the maxi, midi skirts are the only length worth wearing right now. This easy to style trend will become a closet favorite of yours this 2015 Summer/Fall season. Below I share some of my style tips on the midi trend.

Balance your Look

If you choose a printed midi, break up your look with neutral separates and accent your outfit with complementing accessories like a neck scarf and clutch.

Keep it Feminine

A flouncy midi skirt is a feminine statement piece, so let yourself feel girlie and wear a strand of pearls or bow-adorned heels. Now that’s how you really own a trend.

Complete with ankle-strap shoes or simple pair of pumps

Simple ankle-strap heels or point toe pumps give you an easy boost, elongating your total look and upping the fancy factor. Or  in the fall tip, pair with  pointed-toe booties.

Pair with Crop Tops

For those looking to try crop tops, the high-waisted midi is its perfect counterpart.

Play around with bold colors and play with proportions

Just because your hemline stops right below your knees doesn’t mean your jacket has to. . A peek at a shorter hemline from beneath your topper will actually make your legs look longer.

Find the right silhouette for your body shape

If you’re petite, a more fitted style with a leg slit might do you justice. Find one in a fun print and let it take center stage by completing your outfit with neutral accoutrements. Keep in mind, many midi skirts come in fitted, flare and circle fits.

  1. Ooooooo kill em! Fantastic pointers for the ever so trendy fashionista and the not so stylish enthusiasts. Also LOVE your midi skirt and how you kept the look neutral and understated and threw on a pair of fab sunnies to add in your own personal flare.
