How to wear Circle Skirts

Hey fashion Divas, on the Summer 2015 runways, full skirts came full circle. The full circle skirt, made famous by Christian Dior and his 1947 “New Look” collection in Paris, defined fashion throughout the 1950s. But this time around, circle skirts are flirty, come in an array of patterns and fabrics and look fresh and modern.

Where to Buy It

One of my favorite stores to shop for all types of skirts is chicwish.com. Click here to see the skirt styled below. They have variety of  vintage-inspired and handmade collections that are perfect for the summer.

How to Style It

Tuck in a blouse under a jacket/ blazer

Balance out the skirt’s full, leg-covering volume by showing a little skin on top, like the arms, neck and/or décolletage.

If you wear a high-waisted full skirt and have a nice midsection, try wearing a cropped blouse or T-shirt that shows a sliver of your upper tummy.

As for shoes, you can can wear almost any footwear with a circle skirt, like flats, sandals, kitten heels and pumps. For an evening out throw should stick with heels to elongate the legs.

  1. Not sure if I can wear the same Chicwish skirt. I am 5ft tall and very curvy. I’m afraid it will make my hips look too big. Any thoughts?

  2. Hey Anoushka!!
So the skirt fits like a circle so it’s very flattering on most body types. However, if your 5ft then you might find it a bit too long. I’m 5″6″ and I find it is the perfect length for me. You can always hem at the bottom.

Hope that was helpful. Have a wonderful day
